Dream League Soccer (DLS) has become a popular game worldwide, offering players a chance to enjoy virtual football matches via the internet. While many players turn to the game to relax and unwind, others claim it exacerbates stress due to alleged bias, unfair gameplay mechanics, and calculated programming—especially for those who choose to play for free.

Players often voice concerns about the game’s matchmaking system, which they feel pits them against significantly stronger opponents. This perceived imbalance leaves many feeling that the matchmaking is rigged, leading to frustrating experiences for free-to-play users.

Claims of Scripted Gameplay

A significant number of players believe the game is “scripted,” with the AI or game engine influencing match outcomes. Examples of this include sudden declines in passing accuracy, inexplicable defensive errors, or unusually strict refereeing decisions. Such occurrences have led players to suspect that certain matches are pre-determined, making it feel less like a competition and more like a controlled experience.

Pay-to-Win Advantage

Another major complaint centers on the pay-to-win model. Players who spend money reportedly gain quicker access to better players and facilities, giving them a distinct advantage over free-to-play users. This disparity often leaves non-paying players at a disadvantage, further fueling frustration and claims of unfairness.

Player Ratings and Momentum Swings

Players have also noted inconsistencies with in-game performance relative to player ratings. For example, highly-rated defenders may make amateur mistakes, while lower-rated strikers might perform exceptionally well. Additionally, many players complain about momentum swings, where the AI seemingly boosts an opposing team’s performance, particularly in the final minutes of a match, leading to dramatic comebacks or frustrating defeats.

Inconsistent Refereeing Decisions

The AI-controlled refereeing system is another source of irritation, with players reporting inconsistent decisions. Examples include soft fouls being awarded as penalties, leaving players feeling the system is overly biased.

Calls for Improvement

Despite its popularity, the frustrations expressed by players have led to widespread calls for the developers to address these issues. Many believe that improving matchmaking, balancing gameplay mechanics, and addressing perceived biases could make the game fairer and more enjoyable for all users.

Ultimately, while DLS is designed for entertainment, developers are being urged to consider player feedback to ensure the game remains engaging without causing undue frustration.
