In a recent interview with actor Kunle Afod, veteran Yoruba movie actress Mama Ado has opened up about the hardships she has faced since stepping away from acting.

In the video posted on Kunleafod’s official Instagram page, Mama Ado candidly shared the extent of her struggles, stating that she has been suffering since she stopped appearing in Yoruba movies. She revealed that she often resorts to eating kola nuts with water just to sustain herself.

“I’m not saying that actors should not come to check on me, but they should not come here to complicate issues by bringing crowds to see me,” Mama Ado said during the interview.

The actress further expressed her financial difficulties, saying, “I barely have anything to eat every day, it is only when some actors come around to give me a little amount of money that I’m able to feed myself.”

Mama Ado’s heartbreaking account reveals the challenges faced by some veteran actors in the Yoruba movie industry, who often struggle to maintain a stable livelihood after retiring from their acting careers. Her story serves as a call for greater support and attention to the welfare of these seasoned performers who have contributed significantly to the growth and popularity of Yoruba cinema.
