A video has shown the terrifying moment a policeman strangled a driver while in motion on the highway.
A female passenger seated in the back seat filmed the driver and a policeman struggling as the vehicle continued to move.
The passenger can be heard pleading with the policeman to leave the man to avert an accident.
The policeman, unfazed, seized one hand of the driver, while the man continued to drive with the free left hand.
At some point, the policeman put the driver in a chokehold in a bid to stop him, but the driver refused to stop even though he could not see the road ahead of him.
The female passenger screamed in terror, “We are going to crash! We are going to die. Please, somebody, help me!”
The two men paid her no attention.
She resorted to begging the policeman again. “Please, sir, any amount. I will give you. Two million, Three million. Please, any amount. Please. It’s your life. Oh, Jesus! Oh God. We are going to die. Please, officer. Please let him go. Please!”
In the end, it appeared the vehicle slowed down and the lady fell out with the phone falling to the ground.
The camera was out of focus briefly till the woman picked it up again and it showed her bare legs as she walked on the expressway repeatedly mustering: “Jesus, Jesus!
The video has come to the attention of the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has asked for more information about where the incident happened.
He tweeted: “Where is this again? Can we have more information about it? Thanks.
@PoliceNG, @PoliceNG_CRU, take up this and investigate, please. Thanks.”
