Renowned Nigerian pastor, Funke Felix-Adejumo, has emphasized the significance of embracing intimacy in marriage.

In a recent video snippet shared on Instagram, the clergywoman encouraged couples, particularly women, to be more open about their sexuality, challenging cultural beliefs that discourage women from expressing their enjoyment of sex.

“Who told us that women don’t like sex? I like sex. If I didn’t, how would I have children? You’re just pretending—you like sex,” Adejumo stated in the trending video. She criticized the notion that women should suppress their desires for fear of being judged, adding, “African cultures have told you that a woman should not show that she enjoys sex, otherwise, they would call her a prostitute.”

Encouraging women to reject such restrictive mindsets, Adejumo stressed that embracing intimacy strengthens marital bonds.

“When your husband touches you, you’re happy. So, the first thing is to unlearn those cultural restraints in your mind, otherwise, you’ll create problems in your marriage. Tell yourself, sex is good. I want my husband,” she advised.

She further urged women to be more expressive and engaged during intimacy rather than adopting a passive role. Demonstrating a stiff posture, she cautioned against limiting oneself to traditional expectations.

“Talk, moan—sex is good. We must break free from this African mentality. The devil is using it to destroy marriages because sex is the highest level of intimacy,” she asserted.

Adejumo also encouraged wives to actively participate in their relationships, saying, “Tickle your husband, touch him when he’s making love to you. And when he’s done, tell him he did a good job.”

Her remarks have sparked widespread conversations on social media about shifting perspectives on marital intimacy and breaking cultural taboos.
